Objective: Students will be able to identify subjects, verbs, and prepositional phrases in sentences in order to understand how they function together.

Do-Now: Vocabulary Practice #1

1. Name something which could be described as precipitous.

2. If you acquiesced in the rules of this school, would you get suspended?  Explain.

3. Could pirates be viewed as marauders?  Explain.

4. Describe something which causes teachers great exasperation.

5. Where would a pious person likely be found on a Sunday?

Today: 1) Go over worksheet from "The Most Dangerous Game"

2) Finding subjects, verbs, and prepositional phrases in sentences.

3) Grammar Practice with subjects, verbs, and prepositional phrases.

Exit Slip: Describe the difference between subjects and verbs in a sentence.  Describe how to identify a prepositional phrase in a sentence.  Can a prepositional phrase be a subject?

Homework: Vocabulary Test #2 on Wednesday, February 26!!!
