ObjectiveSWBAT complete review questions for Acts 1 and 2 of “Romeo & Juliet.”  SWBAT compare a film to a play.

Do-Now: Before the Friar marries Romeo and Juliet, he claims that the key to long-lasting love is to "love each other in moderation," meaning they should not love each other too little or too much.  Do you agree with his advice?  Why or why not?  What do you believe is the key to long-lasting love?  Explain.

Today: 1) In groups, read Act 2, Scene 5, and Act 2, Scene 6.  You will need to assign readers to the following parts: Juliet, Nurse, Friar Lawrence, and Romeo.  Read Act 2, Scene 5 online HERE.  Read Act 2, Scene 6 online HERE.

2) Watch Act 2 of "Romeo & Juliet."

3) Complete "Romeo & Juliet" Acts 1 and 2 Review

Exit Slip: What parts of the play were changed from the film version?  Why do you believe the film's director chose to change these parts?  (For example:  The film leaves out any mention of the rope ladder Romeo will use to climb Juliet's window.  The director may have left this part out because he plans on having Romeo get into Juliet's room in another way or because he felt it was not important to mention how Romeo is able to get into her room.)

Homework:  Finish "Romeo & Juliet" Acts 1 and 2 Review.  Parallelism Quiz TOMORROW!!!  "Romeo & Juliet" Acts 1 and 2 Quiz on FRIDAY!!!
