Objective: Students will be able to identify errors in parallelism in order to correct those errors and re-write sentences as parallel. Students will be able to evaluate cause/effect relationships in order to determine how events interconnect with one another.

Today: 1) Class will read second article on the MOVE Philadelphia bombing.
2) Cause vs. Effect
3) Evaluating Cause/Effect relationships in the MOVE bombing: What were some of the reasons the bomb was dropped? What effects did the bombing have on the members of MOVE and the surrounding community?
4) Copy New Vocabulary Words: annihilate, expendable, depression, paradox, delirium, resilient, remit, revoke, primeval, subliminal
5) Introduce style: the particular way a writer uses language. Style is created through diction (word choice) and sentence patterns.
6) Class will begin to read "A Sound of Thunder" and complete Yellow Block questions #1-2.
